Compensation for employment of displaced persons: 7,000 employers received assistance

Since the beginning of 2024, the state has paid 174 million hryvnias to employers as part of the compensation program for the employment of internally displaced persons (IDPs). This initiative has become an important support for both businesses and displaced people who were forced to leave their homes due to danger.

As the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tetyana Berezhna reported, during this year compensation was received by 7,000 employers who provided work to more than 9,000 Ukrainians forcibly displaced from dangerous regions. The total amount of payments amounted to 174 million hryvnias, which indicates significant interest and activity on the part of entrepreneurs in supporting the displaced.

The compensation program provides for the payment to employers of 8,000 hryvnias for each employed migrant who received IDP status after February 24, 2022. This financial incentive not only helps provide jobs for displaced people, but also supports businesses operating in wartime conditions.

To receive compensation, the employer must conclude an employment contract or gig contract with an internally displaced person and submit an application for receiving funds. This can be done through the Diya Portal or at the employment center by submitting the required package of documents. This procedure is the most convenient and allows you to quickly receive financial support.

The Ministry of Economy also emphasized that the compensation program is an important component of the state's general strategy to support economic stability and social protection of citizens affected by the war. This is one of the mechanisms that allows immigrants to find new opportunities for employment and integration into new communities.

Thanks to such support, employers are motivated to hire IDPs, which helps not only to reduce the level of unemployment among migrants, but also to support the national economy as a whole.
