The European Union handed over 68 powerful generators to Ukraine, which should help overcome the consequences of Russia's attacks on the country's energy infrastructure. This decision is part of a humanitarian support program that also includes a contribution from the German government.

This is reported by the EU Representation in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has already experienced eight large-scale attacks on energy facilities, which led to significant losses in production capacity. According to data, 9 GW of electrical power was lost in the country's power system due to these attacks.

The EU, taking into account the constant attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, decided to provide 68 generators to support critical infrastructure facilities. Among the received generators are those that will be sent to the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. This city will receive assistance to provide heating to its residents.

As noted by Dmytro Yermolovich, the head of the humanitarian headquarters of the Pokrovsk city military administration, the generators will be used in the boiler rooms of the district heating network. They will ensure the possibility of starting boiler houses in the event of a power outage, which will allow heating to be maintained in the winter period.

This step by the EU is important to support the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, which is suffering significant damage as a result of military operations. The generators will help ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity and heat, which is critically important for maintaining the viability of critical infrastructure facilities.

Thus, the European Union continues to support Ukraine in conditions of aggression, providing the necessary resources for the restoration and maintenance of vital systems.
