The history of lipstick is rich not only in technical achievements, but also cultural transformations that led to its worldwide popularity. Today, millions of women use lipstick, but in her history there were times when she caused disapproval and doubt.

In 1883, French perfumers presented lipstick at a world exhibition in Amsterdam called "stylo d'amore" ("Love Wand"). It was the first encounter with a product that later became a symbol of femininity and seduction. However, in the early 20th century many women were confronted with misunderstanding and prejudice towards this new kind of cosmetics.

At first, lipstick was a luxury item available only to the select few because of its high price, exclusivity and, it was thought, a little provocative. However, the French scene star Sarah Bernard, who was a true devotee of this new product, made it the object of the admiration and passion of many men, including the highest echelons of society.

In the "golden twenties" of the 20th century, lipstick became popular not only among celebrities but also among ordinary women, which made it an integral part of feminine beauty. Manufacturers began experimenting with shades and textures, making the choice of lipstick more diverse and suitable for different skin types and preferences.

In 1949, American entrepreneurs developed automatic machines to produce lipstick, revolutionizing the industry. This event paved the way for the mass production and distribution of lipstick worldwide, making it available to all women.

Modern lipstick is not only a means for creating beautiful lip color, but also a product enriched with vitamins, moisturizing components and protection against harmful environmental effects.
