Google has announced the biggest expansion of its translator since its launch, adding support for 110 new languages, including Crimean Tatar.

This was reported in the Google press service, which stated that thanks to the PaLM 2 language model, the company is starting to integrate additional languages, which will significantly expand the capabilities of translator users.

One of the new languages that will be available in Google Translate will be Afar, which is a tonal language spoken in Djibouti, Eritrea and Ethiopia. Cantonese, which has long been recognized as one of the most requested languages for translation, has also been added to the list.

The Crimean Tatar language, which belongs to the Turkic languages and is native to the Crimean Tatars, will also receive support in Google Translate. According to UNESCO, this language needs special protection due to its unique cultural context.

Other new languages on the list include the Manx language, which belongs to the Celtic group, and Nko, a standardized form of the West African Mandinka languages. Also listed is Punjabi (Shahmukhi), a variety of Punjabi written in the Perso-Arabic script, which is the most widely spoken language in Pakistan.

An equally important addition was the Tamazight language (Amazigh), which is a Berber language of North Africa, and Tok-Pisin, a creole language based on English that is a way of inter-ethnic communication in Papua New Guinea.

This update will allow more people in the world to access high-quality text translation and language interaction in different languages, which will promote the development of cultural and commercial exchanges between countries and regions.
