Recommendations for the economic development of Ukraine

Ukraine is faced with the need to implement additional measures to stimulate economic development, which cover various areas from production to transport policy and human capital management. These recommendations were presented by experts of the Advisory Council on Economic Policy under the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

In the field of production, experts express the need to adapt to regional characteristics and concentrate on the most adaptable sectors, such as agriculture and information services. Attention is also focused on attracting both domestic and foreign investments to promote sustainable development.

Specialists recommend the creation of strengthened economic clusters in the West and South-West of Ukraine, protected from geographical distance and equipped with modern software technologies.

In the field of transport policy, the need for integration into the European transport system and the development of border infrastructure is expressed. This will contribute to the creation of new jobs and business development in the border regions.

Experts pay special attention to the effective redistribution of workers to ensure the optimal use of resources, which concerns different regions and sectors of the economy.

The return of Ukrainians from abroad is of great importance. To attract and retain talented Ukrainians, experts advise the government to create favorable conditions, including specific employment conditions, housing and support for their development.

The Advisory Council under the Ministry of Economy gathered leading world-class economists working on strategies for the sustainable development of Ukraine. This body is headed by Yury Horodnichenko, professor of the Department of Economics at the University of California at Berkeley, and organizational support is provided by the Kyiv School of Economics.
