Tesla, a well-known electric car manufacturer, has announced a significant price reduction for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, which allows the car to drive completely independently. The price of FSD has been reduced by a third, from $12,000 to $8000.

This initiative was part of Tesla's strategy to make autopilot technology more accessible to a wider range of users. In addition to lowering the price of the software, the company also reduced the cost of a monthly subscription to FSD in the US from $199 to $99, offering new customers a month of free access.

Thus, Tesla customers can now choose to pay $8000 for the FSD feature or subscribe for $99 per month. This strategy is aimed at attracting new users and stimulating interest in the advanced technology.

The price cuts also covered the company's model range in key markets, including China and the United States, which demonstrates Tesla's desire to maintain its leadership in the electric vehicle industry and respond to growing competition.

Although autopilot technology is still subject to strict regulation and is not fully realized in the form of full self-driving, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is confident in its future.

Earlier this month, Musk announced that on August 8, Tesla will unveil a robot taxi, emphasizing the company's rapid development in the field of autonomous technologies. Such steps demonstrate Tesla's ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement in the automotive industry.
