Ukraine is launching an important Digital Schools project aimed at improving the country's education infrastructure. According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, under this project, 23 regions of Ukraine will receive 1,600 Wi-Fi routers and 1,000 webcams to ensure a continuous educational process.
The Digital Schools initiative is implemented with the participation of CISCO, a global leader in information technology, together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This became possible thanks to a memorandum of cooperation in the field of innovation and digitalization signed between the government agencies and CISCO.
One of the main aspects of the education transformation strategy in Ukraine is to create conditions for offline learning by providing schools with the necessary equipment. Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation, emphasized that these new technologies, provided with the support of partners, will ensure an uninterrupted educational process even during air raids.
The installation of routers with Wi-Fi access points in school shelters is one of the key components of the project. This will allow access to the Internet at any time, providing conditions for continuing education during extreme situations.
In addition, webcams that will be connected to school computers will allow online classes and provide distance learning opportunities for students. The introduction of these technologies is a strategic step towards a modern educational environment in Ukraine.
In the near future, dozens of schools from different regions of Ukraine will receive new routers and webcams, which will be an important step towards improving the country's educational infrastructure.
