The Government of Ukraine took the initiative to provide pensioners with the opportunity to receive an additional five LED lamps, implementing this program through the branch of "Ukrposhta" during December 2023, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
In the first two stages of the program, Ukrainians received more than 21 million LED lamps, but the authorities see the need to replace about 18 million more incandescent lamps with energy-efficient ones in order to reduce the load on the country's energy system.
Pensioners can get additional lamps by visiting Ukrposhta without registering in the Diya application. To receive it, you must have your passport, identification code, pension card and phone with you.
This time, pensioners do not need to immediately bring old lamps for exchange. They can be brought to the "Ukrposhta" branch within a month from the moment of receiving the additional LED lamps.
The first lamps will be available from December 5 in all rural branches of Ukrposhta throughout the country, with the exception of Kyiv region, where the exchange will start from December 12. Lamp exchanges will be free of charge and will last as long as they are available.
Even those who have already replaced their light bulbs with energy-efficient ones can take part in the program. The program also provides for an exchange for legal entities, depending on the area of the premises.
To exchange old lamps for LED lamps, it is necessary to send a request on the "Action" portal, completing several steps, including authorization, verification of information, selection of the number and types of lamps, as well as indicating the location of the organization.
After submitting the application, representatives of "Ukrposhta" will contact within a week at the specified phone number and provide further instructions for obtaining energy-saving lamps.
It should also not be forgotten that the lamp exchange program also applies to the population in 23 regional centers and 120 district settlements. It is expected that the economic effect of exchanging lamps will save up to 1,000 MW, which is equivalent to the operation of a nuclear power plant unit.
