SBU ingenuity jeopardizes Crimean bridge

The two successful attacks by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the Crimean Bridge in October 2022 and July 2023 shocked the world and demonstrated Russia's inability to protect the strategic facility. According to a recent report by the UK Ministry of Defense, this situation poses a serious threat to the Crimean Bridge.

The report emphasizes that Russia will continue to be threatened by the ingenuity of Ukraine's intelligence services and military. Even though the bridge is operational, its use is limited due to restrictions imposed after the first Ukrainian attack in October 2022, when trucks and fuel continue to be transported across the ferries.

The report also emphasizes that the need for enhanced security measures for the Crimean Bridge requires significant resources and forces of the Russian Federation that could otherwise be used in other areas. This applies, in particular, to the use of air defense systems, ship crews and other military resources.

It is worth reminding that the SBU first blew up the Crimean Bridge with a truck, impressing the world with its audacity. The second attack on the bridge was carried out with the help of unique drones "Sea Kid," which were developed by the SBU itself.

In addition to the attack on the Crimean Bridge, SBU maritime drones hit the Olenegorskiy Gornyak landing ship, the SIG tanker, and the Samum missile ship. Even last week, their effectiveness proved impressive when they attacked the Buyan cruise missile carrier and the Pavel Derzhavin ship.

All of these developments demonstrate the great potential of Ukrainian intelligence and the ability to carry out successful operations against strategic targets of the Russian Federation, which calls into question the effectiveness of the defense of these targets and demonstrates Ukraine's important contribution to maintaining security in the region.
