In Georgia, it has been reported that the parliament will not be able to gather the necessary number of votes to impeach President Salome Zurabishvili. The head of the Georgian Dream faction, Mamuka Mdinaradze, said that there is no mobilized support in the amount of 100 votes, which would be necessary for the impeachment procedure.

According to Georgia Online, Mdinaradze claims that the opposition, which supports Zurabishvili, does not need to "beg" their opponents for favors. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of discussing the release of Mikheil Saakashvili, but believes that Zurabishvili will not agree to this, as it means "political suicide."

Mdinaradze noted that such a step would mean that the Georgian president had submitted to blackmail, and he believes it is unlikely. However, he also did not rule out the possibility of discussing this issue with the opposition.

Earlier, the ruling Georgian Dream party announced the start of impeachment proceedings against President Salome Zurabishvili. She was accused of "blatant violations of the Constitution" due to uncoordinated visits to Berlin and Brussels. The party also said that Zurabishvili's actions threaten Georgia's EU candidate status.

Earlier, the government headed by Irakli Garibashvili, who made decisions in favor of Russia during the conflict with Ukraine, rejected the president's visit to several countries.
