From the beginning of 2023 to the end of August, Russia and annexed Crimea were attacked by drones at least 190 times, according to confirmed data from the British broadcaster BBC.

The attack, which took place on the night of August 30, was recognized as the largest single-day attack since the beginning of the year. It is worth noting that the drones affected at least six regions of Russia, from the south to the northwest.

This year's drone attacks were mainly aimed at the Bryansk, Belgorod, and Kursk regions of Russia, which are located near the western border with Ukraine, as well as the occupied Crimea.

These attacks were evidenced by the explosion of Russia's flagship Tupolev Tu-22 bomber at the Pskov air base, captured by footage verified by the BBC.

Earlier, dozens of maritime drone attacks on Russian targets in the Black Sea, including naval bases and the Crimean bridge, were recorded.

The drones also reached the Moscow region, which is about 450 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Targets included oil facilities, airfields, and energy infrastructure. The BBC identified at least nine attacks on oil storage facilities.

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the successful use of Ukrainian long-range weapons to carry out missions. In addition, Ukraine's military-industrial complex has developed and launched production of a new domestic missile that has already destroyed Russia's S-400 Triumph long- and medium-range air defense system on August 23.
