In an interview with Latin American media, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need for humanitarian assistance from these countries for Ukraine. He encouraged Latin American partners to share their experience in demining and rebuilding cities, noting that this support could be very valuable in the context of Russia's unprovoked aggression against Ukraine.
Zelenskyy noted that not all states can help Ukraine with military support due to various restrictions, but humanitarian aid can be an important step. He expressed confidence that Latin American countries have much to share with Ukraine, especially in the context of addressing pressing issues.
The President emphasized the importance for the world to understand that the war in Ukraine is a consequence of Russia's illegal aggression and called on Latin American leaders to respond to his appeal. In particular, he hopes that these countries can share their experience in solving problems with Ukraine, particularly in the areas of demining, urban reconstruction, and food security.
In his address, Zelenskyy also expressed a desire to hold a summit with Latin American leaders, which could take place in Europe or the Americas. He also reiterated the importance of supporting Ukraine's "Peace Formula," which aims to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's address to Latin American countries appears to be an attempt to attract international support and cooperation in important aspects of recovery and resolution of the problems associated with the armed conflict in Ukraine.
