The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to approve an algorithm for providing donor blood to military units at the front. This was reported by the Ministry of Health, which was responsible for the development of this document.

The algorithm defines and regulates the logistical procedures for obtaining donated blood and its components by medical units, avoiding excessive bureaucracy and inefficient organization of the process.

According to the Ministry of Health, the mechanism for meeting the needs of the security and defense forces with donor blood will now take into account requests for the required volume of blood from combat units. This will allow for timely preparation and delivery of the required volumes to the combat zone.

The approved algorithm also stipulates that each medical unit must appoint a person responsible for ordering donated blood and its components. Military doctors decide on their own whether it is more convenient for them to order blood from a brigade or individual medical units. This makes the system flexible and adaptive to the operational situation at the front.

The algorithm stipulates that the blood system's backbone entity collects the required volume of donated blood and its components and informs the regional coordinators of the date and place of receipt. Then the regional coordinator ensures the receipt, transportation and distribution of donated blood and its components in accordance with the applications submitted by the coordinators of medical units.

"In fact, the task of the units is to prepare applications and reports in which the responsible persons of the medical units fill in only the necessary information. This approach allows military doctors to use their time efficiently and avoid additional efforts to search for and deliver donated blood and its components," the Ministry of Health notes.

In addition, the government decree defines the algorithm of actions of medical units in critical situations, such as massive influx of wounded. In such cases, medical units can quickly obtain the required amount of donated blood and its components from an auxiliary temporary blood bank, the location of which will be known only to them.
