EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson emphasizes the importance of synchronizing Ukraine's energy system with the European ENTSO-E network, to thus ensure the stability of the EU's energy system.

"After the synchronization, Ukraine will become an important factor in the reliable operation of the European energy system," said Simson during an online meeting with Herman Halushchenko, Minister of Energetics of Ukraine.

In turn, Herman Halushchenko added that Ukraine can help European countries "get off the hook" of Russian fossil fuels, in particular, by providing its underground gas storage facilities and electricity supplies.
