The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko has announced that the draft state budget for 2024 will not be accompanied by a draft law on tax changes to increase revenues. This is important news for citizens and businesses who have been vigorously discussing the possibility of raising taxes in the new budget.

Marchenko emphasized that the government of Ukraine has no plans to make any specific changes to the Tax Code and is committed to ensuring the stability of the tax system, even during the war.

One of the key changes being discussed is the redistribution of the "military" personal income tax (PIT), which is currently allocated to local budgets, in particular, for payments to the defense sector, including the military and law enforcement. According to the plans, this tax will be directed to the general fund of the state budget to support the security and defense sector.

The Minister explained that this initiative aims to provide additional funds for the security and defense sector and support Ukrainian forces during military events.

It should be noted that this decision is perceived as a step towards supporting the security and defense sector, but its implementation still needs to be discussed and agreed upon.

The Government of Ukraine continues to improve the mechanisms of financial support for the security and defense sector in times of war, ensuring the stability of the country's tax system.
